The FAA requires that operators of airports must provide aircraft rescue and fire fighting services during air carrier operations. This agreement has provided onsite personnel from the Traverse City Fire Department (TCFD) to fulfill their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required standby aircraft rescue fire fighting service.ĭue to the Cherry Capital Airport’s location in the City of Traverse City, emergency services will continue as they have for over 70 years.
The City of Traverse City has chosen not to renew a soon to expire agreement with Cherry Capital Airport.
